Time For Some Stone and Siding

Brad added his favorite River Rock stone around the base of the house.  I was trying to talk him into a ledge stone but I think this looks fantastic with the trees and the style of the home.

The Hardie plank siding is up.  I will reveal the color choice in next week's blog.  Here's a hint, we went dark.  Next week, we will take a look at some of the bones and what's going on inside. Thanks for looking in!

Back to Spencer...Finally

What can I say, we've had issues.  We requested gas service back in September. After dozens of unanswered calls, we finally just recently received service. It feels great to finally have heat, thanks to R.C. Lomasney Heating and Cooling.

We have had many things that have pulled us from our project.  We have quite a few side jobs as well as helping our daughter and future son in law with their new home.  The outside is pretty much done, although you don't see that in these photos. I will post more next week. We are anxious to get going on the inside.  Now that we have heat, that will be an easier task. See you next week.

So Sorry We Have Been Gone For a While...

We have not updated the Bradco blog due to the fact we have been working on Home Depot's for the last few months. We do however, have some Spencer updates that we are so excited about sharing with you on the next blog.
This was a simple and fast kitchen redo. We prepped and painted the inside and outside of the cabinets and added a backsplash.  Wow, what a difference!  I think it turned out great and so did the home owner.  It really brightened the kitchen up!

This is the last post of cottage photos.  I took the photos over the Memorial Day holiday to show that "lived in" look.  We can't always have everything picked up. We are on vacation, after all.  I can not wait to get back up there for the July 4th holiday. Enjoy the photos and enjoy your holiday.  If you make it up to the north, stop by and say howdy.

Our Completed Home In the North

Every time we are up at our home in the north, I marvel at all of Brad's handy work. So much of us is woven into every detail in every room. I never tire of the space. It is so different than our home down state.  More photos to come next week.

Its always relaxing up north.  It's also always beautiful no matter what time of year.  There are still some dreams we have like building a large garage for our boat with a workroom for Brad and upstairs overflow space.

Everything was a mess from working on the cottage and then the snow

Love my log post

Snow came through this ceiling

We spent a couple years on our renovation project due to the fact we had "life" going on, down. We went up or should I say, Brad went up every time he had a few days free. One spring day, Brad went up to find there had been a huge snow storm and the tarps had given way to snow.  Snow had invaded mainly the corner where the Smith Cottage sign was on the wall. Our couches and carpet were wet with snow and a small stereo got ruined.  It could have been so much worse. Thankfully, we didn't have our new carpet.  I know I've said this before, but please excuse the old scanned photos.
